Photography became a passion and way of life for him since his college days back in Kolkata.
After completing his graduation with Honours in English and post-graduation in Journalism, he joined the Times of India’s response desk as a freelance photographer-cum-reporter and then moved to Anandabazar Patrika (ABP), one of India’s leading and oldest newspapers, as a photographer. He shifted to New Delhi in 2012 and joined the South Asian bureau of a British media agency – Barcroft Media, leaving the job in 2015 as their chief photographer, so that he can travel and spend more time working on his own projects, doing what he loves most – photographing and documenting nature and wildlife. The ever-increasing curiosity to explore the wilderness and love for wild animals take him across the different national parks, sanctuaries and some of the most unexplored destinations of India throughout the year. He has won several national and international awards and recognitions for nature and wildlife photography. A lot of his works have been published in different newspapers, magazines and books throughout the world like The Daily Mail, New York Post, The UK Telegraph, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, Mirror, The Sun, Saevus, Sanctuary Asia, Wildlife Matters, Time Magazine, Hello Magazine, Geo Magazine (France edition) to name a few.
